Live and Die Awake is the companion site to the book of the same name by Julie Wright Halbert, published November 4, 2026. It is operated by Rising Phoenix LIFE.

Nothing here is medical advice, psychological treatment, legal advice, or a substitute for care from a professional who knows your situation. The meditations and reflections are offered as a companion to the book and nothing more.

The same is true of Julie's own work. She is a death doula, an end-of-life educator, and a transformational soul coach, which is companionship and education rather than clinical care. It is not psychotherapy, mental health counseling, clinical social work, or marriage and family therapy, and it is not medical, nursing, or hospice care. She holds no license in any of those and does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. She does not practice law here, either.

If you are in crisis, please contact your doctor, your local emergency number, or a crisis line. In the United States you can call or text 988.

Access is free. We ask for your name and email address, and in return the whole Suite opens.

The recordings, guides, and reflections in the Suite are for you. Please do not republish them, sell them, or post them elsewhere. If you want to use something with a group, a hospice, or a class, write to us. The answer is usually yes.

The quotes on this site are real, unpaid, and set down as the people who wrote them wrote them. Each one describes that person's own experience. None of them is a promise of what anyone else will find.
