The Butterfly Effect
On kindness, being witnessed, and finding our way forward through grief

Sharing the first printed books of Live and Die Awake with Mom and Blue Butterfly Children’s Grief Care of Empath Health Tidewell https://tidewellhospice.org/bluebutterfly/ .
Yesterday was one of those days I wish I could hold in my hands a little longer, embracing the moments, capturing the essence within each moment.

I was blessed to spend the morning at Blue Butterfly, painting pottery butterflies with children who have experienced the death of someone they love. Their family members were there right beside them joining in the fun.
I was so grateful to be with my mom and two dear friends, Jenny and Lauren. Everyone joined in…playing with the colors, imagining and expressing their version of a butterfly.

My Mom, Cynthia Wright…look at her joy. Making a difference at Blue Butterfly is her happy place. And my beloved friend, Jenny showing up for the kids, for the purpose and genuine pure friendship to support Live and Die Awake and all that I hope to bring forward to be a companion guide to others experiencing loss and grief. To donate or order the book please go to liveanddieawake.com to see the launch link.
Danielle Wondrak MSW, LCSW, the program’s Director, and her staff so thoughtfully guided the children as we gathered around paint and bright colors, creating butterflies that will become part of our November 1 launch celebration. Each one carried the memory of a special person in a child’s life.
