Live and Die Awake: Rising from the Ashes
The meditation that opens Live and Die Awake, read by Julie. It asks nothing of you except a few quiet minutes and your attention.

Listen
Julie asks for your email before she reads to you, so she knows who is sitting with her. One address opens this recording and the rest of the Companionship Suite, and you will not be asked again on this device.

How to sit with it
At the beginning of a day, or at the end of a hard one. Sit somewhere you can stay put for nine minutes. Headphones help, but they are not required.
Reflective Pause: Meeting Yourself Where You Are
Julie prints this at the front of the book, before the first chapter. It is here in her words, unedited. Sit with it after you listen.
Please remember to start with a journal to capture your reflections after each meditation, to answer questions in the exercises either in writing or in an app, such as Otter, to transcribe orally your thoughts and reflections that you may later download into a file and folder to compile your entire journey of healing through Live and Die Awake.
This pause continues into the Living and Dying Awake Framework, which has a page of its own.
