Connection to Your Loved Ones
Julie’s Reflection Pause for this chapter is set out below in full, in her words. 17 questions to sit with, and a journal is all they ask for.
Reflection Pause: Connecting to the Divine Within and Without Oneself
Julie prints this at the end of the chapter. It is here in her words, unedited.
Please remain quiet for a few moments after the meditation and allow the experience to settle gently into your body. Rather than trying to understand, allow yourself to remember the feeling within.
1. Arriving Between Worlds
In the meditation, you were invited to experience yourself as the meeting place between heaven and earth, the eternal and the embodied.
- What did you notice as you softened into this space?
- Where in your body did you feel openness, warmth, or stillness?
- Did you sense yourself differently than usual, were you more spacious, connected, or grounded?
2. The Divine Moving Through Me
You were guided to allow the light to enter through you and anchor into the earth.
You became the bridge.
- What did it feel like to imagine or experience light moving through you?
- Where do you recognize that you are already connected to something greater?
- What part of you longs to trust this divine connection more fully?
3. Love Beyond Form
You were invited into the field where souls remain connected beyond time.
If you sensed loved ones, guides, or presence, consider the following:
- What did you feel, notice, or intuit?
- What love continues between you, even now?
- What message, feeling, or knowing was offered to you?
If you did not feel anything specific, consider:
- What does it mean to you that a connection may still exist beyond physical form?
- What opens in your heart when you consider that love is eternal?
There is no right experience. Presence itself is enough.
4. Remembering Rather Than Reaching
- When in your life have you felt this kind of knowing before?
- What makes it hard for you to trust that you are already connected?
- What becomes possible if separation is more illusion than truth?
5. Living as the Bridge
Live and Die Awake invites us to live awake, knowing we are both human and soulfully infinite. Consider the following questions:
- How might remembering this connection change how you move through your life?
- What fear softens when you remember you are not alone?
- How could you live today as someone who carries heaven and earth within?
6. Anchoring the Knowing
Consider completing one or all of the following sentences:
I am the bridge between __________________________.
Love continues through __________________________.
Today I remember that I am ________________________.
Closing Integration
Place your hands over your heart and take one slow breath, repeating softly to yourself:
I am not separate.
I am held within the infinite, and the infinite lives within me.
Love does not end. It transforms.
